Ancient Roman latrines, Ephesus.
The best I've see so far, from the Reed College Student Union's Men's Room, mid-1980's:
"Please do not throw cigarette butts in the urinal. It makes them soggy and difficult to light."

Certainly not up to yours, but from the early 1940's.
Sign over urinal: "You hold the future of mankind in yout hand."
Don't miss pun in first line.
The best that I saw was in a stall in a dorm at Wellesley College, which no men were meant to see:
"Sex is like ice cream. As soon as it starts to get really hot, it melts."
Like the one from Reed.
In Austin, in the 1970s, there was a great hippie joint called Pecan Street Cafe that had terrific graffiti. Mostly UT students. Unfortunately, I can't remember much now, but I used to always go to the john there just to read the walls.
I think that's where I first saw this classic:
To do is to be - Sartre
To be is to do - Aristotle
Do be do be do - Sinatra
So, Jeff, what exactly were you doing in the women's room?
;-)
William,
Well, I just happened to be visiting, and nature calls... but I was just thinking...
I hope my girlfriend didn't write that.
Gosh, the thought had never occurred to me.
:-)
Hilarious!
