a sign

A bear on a golf course.

Think about it associatively.

Golf = money.

Money = Wall Street.

Wall Street + Bear = Financial loss.

Just a word to the wise: Sell all your stocks and invest in gold chains that you wear at all times.

An intriguing but faulty theory. The Bear is also the symbol for California. Which had an earthquake this week. But no one was killed. Which means Wall Street will be shaken but it will not slide off into New York harbor, i.e. we won't be wiped out financially. And, in fact, the panic caused by your flawed theory will probably be the reason for the minor economic earthquake.

Also, Pooh is a bear. And Pooh is "pooh." So a bear on a golf course could simply mean "pooh" on a golf course. Which Wall Street can avoid stepping in if it looks where it's going.

Or it could mean that Russia will invade California and make Tiger Woods king. The grand "pooh-bah," as it were.
