Hey, I've rowed those boats in the Retiro!

Looks like (in no particular order) Cibeles, the end of the Gran Via, Puerta Del Sol, Plaza de Espana?

One of my favorite spots was La Mallorquina in the Puerta Del Sol. I'd order Cafe con Leche and Napolitanas at hideously inappropriate times of the day. Such a tourist...

I'm actually not sure there are inappropriate times for that. If you have a beer after lunch, though, they'll slit your throat.

It is the Retiro, the Cafe Comericial (where William and I must have spent several years out of our lives), the Calle de Acala (near Sol) and the Plaza de la Villa (East of the Plaza Mayor). I originally put up the titles, but the formatting got all weird and I didn't have time to fix it.

What is the Retiro? You can rent boats? The cafe looks like a good place to hang out.

The Retiro is the main park in the center of Madrid. It's fantastic.

oh man, making me homesick. I miss Comercial a lot.

But, dude, where's 21?!?! Do you have any photos of that national treasure? I wish I did. We should've documented it to the fullest degree - because we shall never see its likes again.

I think I had a picture of el 21, but I don't know. It was, sadly, gone when I returned to Madrid with the digital camera.
