Congratulations to both of you!

Liam. As you may not be aware, I and another blogger or two are "snarling" at each other. We all think we have been egregiously wronged. I will ask that you not take this out on the boys who trust your advice. They have nothing to do with the "snarling.' I will be posting on The Church and Sexuality. Although a catholic my views do not represent the 'main stream'. Your help to these boys will be a gift they will not forget. Jack

Crystal, Ted, Fr Chris, and Fay,
Great to hear from all of you, and thank you!

Jack -- anyone is always welcome here.

Oh sure, show off the bride and groom and skip the groomsmen. We were just your ring puppets, weren't we?

Very nice. It was a beautiful wedding. And the bride and groom were beautiful. And Ascension was beautiful.

And that Giant Potted Palm was beautiful.

Sir this is Frank speaking for me, glenn and brett. Our rcia has been good. We finally touched on sex. Everything else is fine. We like the fact the richest man in the city gets in line for comunion just like all the rest. But the sex thing still has a puzzled let me write from Jack's blog. What are we to do go out and find a wife just so we can have sex thoughts. Try to put out of our minds any thought of women or just ignore what some say the church tells us about sex. Is this really so important, you know all three of us have been active since high school, we are sorry we were but what of the future. We know you can help. Frank. We love Jack but if you think his views are way out of line he wants us to listen first to you.

Congrats and best wishes to you both. :)

Sir. I really need somone to help me. I'll try to do good on my writing which is bad. If you are busy and would not want to listen deleat this, maybe you could give me a name of someone to help me. This is Frank. Jack kind of made a blogger mad for using these blogs to get help. A nice lady on Jacks blog said go to someone in town you trust, but then Iam afraid it would be all over the town.

I think you might remember my story. The broken foot, alice carry for me, Jack and Alice pay all my bills. A priest called me out of rcia last week and said he thought maybe I should not become catholic, that I was doing it to thank Jack and Alice. That is not true. They both have told me many times not to be catholic because of anything they did.

Why do I want to be catholic. I feel home and accepted in that church. My family was babtist, but everytime I went I thought the preacher was talking about me. I have been bad especially in the opposite sex thing. When I was 15 in the ninth grade I was lucky enough to be a good football player. A older cheerleder and I dated. We went to far on several times. One day my dad found me doing something I should not do. He made me take off my shirt and whipped me twenty times with a belt then he sat on the bed and cried. I love my dad he was doing what he thought was good for me. The next day at foorball practice after we were in the shower I waited till the last so the others would not see the welts. A coach saw them and ask me what happened. I lied and he said tell me if that ever happen again. My dad never whipped me again. He really wants me to get through this rcia class.

I like the catholic church because there are all kind of people there. The richest man in the city is treated no different than I am. I love the service and can understand it all. When it comes to the peace greeting all those around me shake my hand and are very nice. Alice said once I could get in the comunion line. The priest puts his hand on my head and says God bless you Frank, that makes me feel like he accepts me like the priest who came after my injury and told me he would help me. The baptist have a song called Just as I Am. That is what I want. I need to be much better but I want to think Jesus still loves me just as I am.

Let me end by saying I love this church but I can never live up to its codes in the sex area. I will try but I know I will fail. I am no maniak but I do have strong feelings. Last week a girld friend touched me where she should not. It made me think bad thoughts. I can't help it. I don't know what to do. Should I drop out or what. If you think this is to far out deleate it. Thank you very much. Frank

Frank --
Very busy right now and I will say more later. Let me say just two things: First, I believe (though some would disagree with me) that people can be good Catholics and have different takes (to a certain extent) on the Church's official position on sexuality -- the great majority of US Catholics, for example, do not follow Church teaching on contraception. Secondly, no one is perfect, either in relation to their sexuality or to anything else. We're all sinners.

Liam please a one word response. Should I go back to rcia. Jack said he would word it out. But I need to be a man. Yes or no. Please help me. Next rcia is sunday. Does priest mean i should not come back. Frank

Liam said...

Sure you should go -- you can decide later (or prove to the priest later) if you want to become Catholic. Meanwhile, keep learning.

Thanks a lot liam. Sure by sure I want to be catholic. Really bad. I want trouble you for a while but just a word of two more. After my dad whipped me my mother came in, my face was burried in pilow because I was asamed. I remember she took off my shoes and sox and put some stuff on my back where there was a little blood. She said Frank I am proud of you and I',l always love you. Last year my dad said I should not have done that the whipping. Last thing as a senior I ask a real nice girl to the prom. She said yes but called the next day and said her parents would not let her go with me, I think they thought I was bad. I know the church and Jesus love me. Frank. I know people laugh but I am not a woosh.

Liam, this is Jack. You advised Frank to go to RCIA; so he stayed with Alice and Me and did not go with his family to Texas.

Thursday morning Father.....from the church called and ask if he could come by for just a few minutes. Of course we said yes. This priest was NOT the one who called Frank out of RCIA to ask him if he really wanted to become a Catholic (See above). FranK was just getting up and was afraid the priest would tell him not to come back.

You call it a miracle maybe; I call it human kindness. The priest said how glad he was that Frank was in RCIA, and he gave him a small prayer book. When Frank took it he bowed his head because of his height (6-3), the priest put his hand on his head and said "Frank,God loves you." Before he had always said "God Bless you." we all noticed the difference. This was the same priest who had gotten him the pain medicine when he broke his foot and toes. You told Frank to stay and go to RCIA. He did and his hopes were answered. Frank wants to say a word below. Jack

Liam another reason I want to be catholic. In my other church they would have youth night and all they talked about was not having unclean thots. In the church I am at now catholic they talked about helping others, I know not having bad thoughts is important but I think it is important to help others. Frank. Jack just told me to ask you if we are taking up to much space. If we are we could post om Jacks blog and send you a short message to look for our mesage. Thanks again Frank. Jack think I should tell you about my mom taking off my shoes and sox. Thats what she did when I was little and when she did that after the whipping I thought it meant she still thought of me as her boy.
