Saint Roch and his dog.
How can someone who runs a dog-fighting ring be even more vile? Use kittens as bait. Good Lord...

I'd never heard of St. Rcth. I was just dreaming about dogs and cats this morning when I woke up. Cruelty to animals - awful.
Yikes! At least they're not using yaks.
(Are there yaks in New Jersey? I'm sure there must be some in New York City. Queens, no doubt. In some Uzbeki guy's apartment.)
It's been interesting following the reaction among football players and fans to the Michael Vick story. There are a lot of serious dog lovers out there, and they're not too happy with the guy. There's something particularly disgusting and cruel about this whole dog-fighting trend that even gets to people who might otherwise not care so much about violence, or about an athlete doing something wrong. He could've shot and killed someone and I'm not sure people would be responding the way they have to him. It's interesting.
Crystal -- He's big in Spain. There's even an expression about him. You say someone is "mas fiel que el perro de San Roque" -- "more faithful than St Roch's dog."
William,
Yeah, it is interesting. There was a columnin Yahoo Sports about the race divide on the issue. I despise cruelty to animals and think people should be prosecuted for it, but I also have a problem with groups like PETA and their priorities. "Radical" suburban middle-class white kids looking for a new cause.
Still, using kittens as bait for dogfights? That's some bad karma.
Liam, I once said i like b16 because he likes cats. But I need some input from you. My "Open letter" to Liam is on my blog liberal catholic sports music. Or jack/joe. Boy do I need a response. Jack
