Fra Angelico

I'm just too busy to post anything. The Franciscans told me today that it was the feast day of Blessed John of Fiesole, otherwise known as Fra Angelico. Enjoy the painting -- it was one of my favorites from the Prado in Madrid.

There's a lovely story about Fra Angelico by Antonio Tabucchi for those who can read Italian.

Great. My body pulses with excitement over a new post and all I get is a picture I've already seen and a story in bloody Italian. I can't read Italian#@$%&!!!

I pay $49.99 a month for this?!?!? I want my money back.

At least I offered up a New Yorker cartoon on my last post. You should've given us a link to chucknorrisfacts.com or something.

That is a beautiful painting, I'll give you that.

Liam, that's my favorite one of Fra Angelico .... I only pay $15.95 a month for this, so i"m more easily satisfied :-)

49.99! What else do you get with that?

Great painting, hardly any were ever done better.

They must re-use the Saint of the Day URL, like ZENIT does with their URLs. Makes me crazy. Today it came up with St. Conrad of Piacenza. Interesting story.

William,

Sorry:

Crystal,

Isn't it beautiful. I'm glad you stopped by.

Jeff,

I keep forgetting that. I love the Franciscans, but I may have to saint-link elsewhere next time.

For those of you who don't subscribe to LiamPRO, here's the LIVE link to chucknorrisfacts.com. You may think you don't like Chuck Norris. You may ask yourself, as I did, "Has Liam finally lost his mind working on the PhD? How could I possibly enjoy a website dedicated to Chuck Norris? But you will. You will be ashamed by this, but you won't be able to deny it. I will never doubt Liam's brain cells again.

I went with the $49.95 deal because I wanted the "Win a Date with Liam," the autographed picture (very blurry - something to do with a donkey), and the high-speed connection to the ILCDB (Internet Liam Charter DataBase.) Oh, and the Liam Action Figure. It throws little beer bottles at Republicans and people who like Led Zeppelin, then pontificates on the Middle Ages.

I almost forgot the best part - you get the video of Liam's favorite Gregorian Chant.

Wow, who knew? All I get for the $15 is a once-a-week reciprocal comment deal with Liam. You rich guys have all the fun :-(

But I'm compensated by the link to Chuck Norris. I've seen almost all his movies, especially loving Way of the Dragon and The Octagon :-)

:-O !!

Forget Stairway to Heaven, I want to hear these guys chant Black Dog. Why not? Here's a guy doing it in Bossa Nova.

Bossa Nova Zep. Cool. Could have used a touch more bossa for my taste, but still cool.

I'd like to hear/see Gregorian "Dazed and Confused."

See, Liam, Zep rules. They go deep. They cause Germans to want to convert their songs to Gregorian chant and Brazilians to sing them a la bossa nova. Their soulful (oh, wait, Jimmy Page sold his soul to the Devil) . . . Their richly textured humanity has a universal appeal. I know, sooner or later, with your open mind, your intelligence and your seeking heart, that you will see the light. Or hear it - feel it coursing through your body via John Bonham's cosmically inspired work on "Ramblin' On," from Led Zep II. Away with the evil, spirit-killing banality of Journey, let Zep take you on the glorious Stairway to Heaven!

Crystal: "rich"?

Ha, ha, ha!!! Yeah, right.

My wife and I live on blocks of government cheese and 10 for $1 top ramen noodles so I can afford Liam's golden blog.

Okay, it's been a while since the government cheese, but the life of an adjunct is not one to lead you on the road to riches!

Gregorian's version of Stairway to Heaven is the only way to do that song.

The truth is... Zep sucks, dude.
